In early January 2008, we moved to a 20 acre bush block in Blackheath, New South Wales, Australia. Apart from a dirt track between two gates, and some basic clearing of scrub in one corner, nothing had been done to the land at all. It used to be part of the block next door which is where the original owners lived.
A lot of work has been done to get to the point we are at now! Some of which we will revisit in this journal, especially the building of the house. But mostly we hope to create a record of our attempts at creating a garden for the future. One that works with our surroundings but also brings a little bit more colour and food for our table into our lives.
